Biography
My wife Mona and I have two kids and live in Heggedal, Norway. As far back as I can remember, Thor Heyerdahl has always been my hero. I build my first raft when I was seven years old, and the last one was for the historical drama film Kon-Tiki (2012). I love to recreate all kind of prehistoric transoceanic contact. I have combined expeditions like Tangaroa and Nanoq with academic studies, journalism and teaching. My passion for ancient cultures started twenty years ago when I traveled in a 1979 Toyota Corolla from Tennessee to Costa Rica and eventually ended up in Peru.
