This desert cart has been build specifically for the Simpson Desert with 2 main objectives: to be puncture proof and to not break under heavy weight up to 200 kg loads. It has been tested on macadam with 4 adults on it so with a load of over 300 kg.
It is mainly made of a dismantlable aluminium frame and high performance MTB wheels. The axles are plain stainless steel bars of 20mm diameter where a hole has been drilled to decrease the weight. The cart is nearly indestructible. It is heavy but the advantage is to not need tools to repair it, which saves time and weight.
The tyres are plain rubber with microbubbles made by the UK company GreenTyre.
The whole cart weights 32,5 kgs.
